
Seven Mustang Basketball Players Earn Big West Winter Academic Honors

SAN LUIS OBISPO – Seven Cal Poly basketball players received Big West Winter Academic All-Conference team recognition Tuesday afternoon with the Mustangs men’s program earning a program record four selections.
In order to qualify for inclusion, student-athletes (excluding true freshmen and first-year transfers) had to maintain at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA through the most recent academic term while also competing in at least 50 percent of their program’s competitions.
The complete listing of Cal Poly’s seven Big West Winter Academic All-Conference team honorees is below.
From the Cal Poly men’s basketball program, sophomore guard Peter Bandelj – who finished third in the lineup at 13.0 points per game – paired his All-Big West honorable mention award with Tuesday’s academic all-conference honor.
Bandelj was joined by sophomore Guzman Vasilic (7.6 points per game; 17 starts) and juniors Jackson Mosley (6.5 points per game in 17 appearances) and Kieran Elliott (4.9 points per game; 10 starts).
The Cal Poly women’s program was represented sophomore guard Jordan Billing (16 starts in 26 appearances) and sophomore forwards Avery Knapp (83.3 percent free throw mark; 4.0 points per game) and Nora Perez (5.7 points, 4.2 rebounds per game).
All seven players earned their first career Big West Winter Academic All-Conference team honor on Tuesday.
