LAS VEGAS — Seniors Jensen Jalufka and Kamille Dimayuga both finished tied for 11th in the individual standings as Cal Poly women’s golf placed fifth as a team Tuesday at the Big West Championship at Spanish Trail Country Club in Las Vegas.
Jalufka and Dimayuga ended their Cal Poly careers strong as they both finished with scores of seven over par for the tournament. Freshman Nicole Koong was tied for 19th at nine over par.
As a team, Cal Poly finished with a score of 33 over par 897, four shots back of fourth place UC Irvine. After shooting 18 over par in round one Sunday, the Mustangs shot even par as a team Monday in round two and then shot 15 over in the final round Tuesday.
Jalufka shot a two over 74 in each of the first two rounds and a final round three over 75 Tuesday. Dimayuga rebounded after shooting a four over 76 in the opening round to shoot one over in round two and two over in round three.
Jalufka finishes her collegiate career as one of the best players in program history. She finishes with the lowest career scoring average in Mustang history with a 74 average. She also owns the top two lowest scoring average seasons in program history.
She and Dimayuga were part of three Big West Championship winning teams in their careers. Both were also multiple time All-Big West honorees.
Although the Mustangs will lose Jalufka and Dimayuga, they will return the other five players on their roster next season.
