
Jalufka Records Top 40 Finish at NCAA Regionals

GOLD CANYON, Ariz. — After becoming Cal Poly women's golf's first ever individual to receive an at large berth in an NCAA Regional, redshirt senior Jensen Jalufka made Cal Poly proud after recording at top 40 finish following the final round of the Gold Canyon Regional Wednesday.
Jalufka placed tied for 37th at 11 over par out of 67 competitors. Playing at the par 72 Superstition Mountain Golf Club, she shot an opening round two under 70 on Monday that saw her record five birdies.
She then shot an eight over 80 in round two on Tuesday and a five over 77 in the final round Wednesday.
The Regional was won by Oregon's Kiara Romero, ranked as the No. 3 player in the country. She finished at 16 under par.
Jalufka caps an incredible Cal Poly career and one that will go down as one of the best in Cal Poly women's golf history. She is a four-time All-Big West honoree, including back-to-back years on the first team. She's also the program's record holder for career scoring average at 74.0 and holds the two lowest scoring average seasons in the history of the program. Her 2023-24 average of 72.7 is all-time leader and her scoring of 72.8 this year is second lowest.
This year, she had five top 10 finishes, 15 rounds at or under par, and five rounds in the 60's. She finished the regular season with four straight top 10 finishes and placed 11th at the Big West Championship.
