
No. 6 Mustangs Tied for Nation’s Longest Win Streak at Halfway Point of Season

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. — Just past the halfway point in the season with the week off this week, the sixth ranked Cal Poly beach volleyball team currently is tied for the longest winning streak in the country at 14.
Holding down the No. 6 spot in the latest AVCA rankings for the fifth week in a row, the Mustangs are 16-2 so far this season. 10 of their 16 wins have been sweeps, 5-0. They also are 10-0 at home this season.
Cal Poly’s top two pairings have been phenomenal so far this year. The No. 2 pair of Izzy Martinez and Logan Walter are on a 14 match win streak themselves and are 17-1 overall on the season. The No. 1 pair of Erin Inskeep and Piper Ferch are 14-3 so far and have won nine of their last 10 matches.
Another strong pair so far has been down at the No. 5 spot with Abbey Reinard and Elise Lenahan. Together, they are 11-1 on the season and have won six in a row.
With the week off this week, the Mustangs are preparing for the Best in the West event next weekend in Laguna Beach which sees them face six ranked teams April 4-6.
