MANHATTAN BEACH, Calif. — Cal Poly beach volleyball players Erin Inskeep and Ella Connor took first place over the weekend at the West Coast Championships in Manhattan Beach.
The event featured some of the top pair from some of the best beach volleyball schools from around the country, several of which Inskeep and Connor took down.
Inskeep and Connor won four straight matches to take the title. They started by beating Elena Fisher and Clara Stowell from Stanford. They then took down Arizona State’s top pair, Ava Kirunchyk and Samaya Morin.
In the semifinals, they beat Stanford’s top pair of Charlotta Bell and Kelly Belardi to move on to the championship match. There, they swept the top pair from LMU, last year’s national runner up, of Anna Pelloia and Tanon Rosenthal.
Connor and Inskeep were both AVCA First Team All-Americans last season for the Mustangs as they helped lead Cal Poly to its second straight appearance in the NCAA Championship Semifinals.
The Mustangs will host their own fall tournament Friday, Oct. 24 at Swanson Beach Volleyball Complex, and Saturday, Oct. 25 in Pismo Beach.
