SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. — Cal Poly beach volleyball head coach Todd Rogers has announced the addition of two players to next year’s team.
The Mustangs have added Eva Joldersma, a transfer from Indiana Wesleyan University, as well as Macy Ludwig, a high school senior from El Segundo, Calif.
Joldersma has been a highly decorated indoor volleyball player at Indiana Wesleyan University the past four years. During her time there, she was a three-time NAIA National Player of the Year, three-time NAIA National Champion, four-time All-American. As an outside hitter, she recorded over 2,000 career kills, 1,225 digs, and 123 aces.
She also has beach volleyball experience as over each of her summers, she has gone to Michigan to compete on the sand.
“Eva is an amazing person who also happens to be a fantastic athlete and beach volleyball player,” head coach Todd Rogers said. “She was a three-sport athlete in high school and decided to focus on indoor volleyball in college. She played lots of beach volleyball in the summer on the western shores of Lake Michigan. I am super excited to see where she can go on the beach now that it will be her focus.”
Ludwig comes to Cal Poly from El Segundo High School and MBSand club team. She was a four-year starter for El Segundo High in both indoor and beach volleyball. She was First Team All-League all four years for beach volleyball.
She won a gold medal at the AAU Junior Olympics in 2025 and a silver medal at the 2025 AAU National Championships.
"Macy is a dynamo from El Segundo who plays for Patty Dodd at MBSand Beach Volleyball Club,” Rogers said. “She is a tenacious defender who plays bigger than her height. What impresses me the most with Macy is her incredible natural leadership skills. She is a take-charge gal who brings her teammates together. She will be a tremendous asset to our team on and off the court."
Joldersma and Ludwig will join a Mustang team that will return two All-Americans and six players who won at least 14 matches this past season.
