No. 6 Cal Poly Hosts Mustang Roundup Saturday, Sunday to Open Home Slate

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. — After playing its first two weeks of the season on the road, Cal Poly beach volleyball fans will get their first chance to see the No. 6 Mustangs play at home this year when the team hosts the Mustang Roundup at the Swanson Beach Volleyball Complex this Saturday and Sunday.
Cal Poly will play four matches throughout the weekend, two on Saturday and two on Sunday. On Saturday, they will face San Jose State at 11:30 a.m. and No. 14 Grand Canyon at 7 p.m. On Sunday, they will take on Big West foe UC Davis at 2 p.m. and Houston Christian at 4:30 p.m.
Fans who can’t attend the matches in person can follow live scoring for all 14 matches that will be hosted at the Swanson Beach Volleyball Complex this weekend. Live scoring links for all 14 matches can be found below.
The Mustangs (6-2) are fresh off an undefeated weekend at the Sun Devil Classic, picking up 4-1 wins over No. 10 Arizona State and Arizona, and sweeping Coastal Carolina and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi 5-0.
The Mustangs, who have two victories over ranked opponents this season, are led by senior Piper Ferch and sophomore Erin Inskeep, who own a 6-2 record while playing together at the No. 1 spot this spring and were named Big West Pair of the Week after going a perfect 4-0 at the Sun Devil Classic. Cal Poly's No. 2 is made up of redshirt sophomore Logan Walter and junior Izzy Martinez, who have also impressed this season, boasting a 7-1 record entering this weekend's matches.
Following the Mustang Roundup, Cal Poly hosts its second tournament of the year next weekend — the Big West Challenge on March 21-23. The Mustangs will encounter all six of their conference foes at the tournament — Cal State Bakersfield, UC Davis, CSUN, Long Beach State, Hawai'i and Sacramento State. Play during the three-day tournament starts next Friday at 10:15 a.m. when Cal Poly takes on Sacramento State.
