SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. — Cal Poly football head coach Paul Wulff has made some changes to his coaching staff, adding two new assistant coaches while also changing some roles of current assistant coaches.
Wulff brought in longtime college football coach Todd Sturdy to be the new wide receivers coach and passing game coordinator as well as David Stott as defensive quality control and assistant linebackers coach.
Internally, Wulff moved Timm Rosenbach to quarterbacks coach and offensive coordinator. In his first season with the team last year, Rosenbach was the receivers coach and co-offensive coordinator.
I’m excited to have Timm lead our offense into the 2025 season. Timm has tremendous experience and success as a player and coach at all levels. I have great confidence that his leadership will allow us to be efficient and very explosive offensively.Head Coach Paul Wulff
Sturdy comes to Cal Poly with an extensive collegiate coaching resume. After playing at St. Ambrose in Iowa, Sturdy got into coaching there in 1991. He later become the head coach there, serving from 1995-2006. That then lead him to being the offensive coordinator at Eastern Washington in 2007. He and Wulff then coached together when Wulff was the head coach at Washington State from 2008-2011. Sturdy served as offensive coordinator during that entire tenure.
Sturdy went on to coach at Iowa State, Northern Iowa, MidAmerica Nazarene, and the last four years as the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Northwest Missouri State.
I feel very fortunate to be able to add Todd to our staff. He’s a veteran coach that has experience in all aspects of football both offensively and defensively. He has been very successful for a number of years and has a proven track record of being a very successful coach and recruiter.Head Coach Paul Wulff
Stott comes to Cal Poly from coaching at Santa Barbara High School the last several years where he was the associate head coach and offensive coordinator. He also previously served as co-defensive coordinator, defensive line coach, and linebackers coach.
