
Cal Poly Athletics Promotes Jackson Stava to Deputy Athletics Director

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. — Cal Poly Director of Athletics Carter Henderson has announced that Senior Associate Athletic Director of Internal Operations Jackson Stava has been promoted to Deputy Director of Athletics.
"Jackson's deep industry experience, operational capabilities and servant-leadership mindset have served Cal Poly Athletics extremely well, and he is very deserving of this new role," Henderson said. "I am excited to partner closely with him as we work to create a bright future for Mustang student-athletes."
Stava has been with Cal Poly since 2022 and has helped elevate Cal Poly Athletics tremendously throughout his time. He has extensive experience in college athletics, previously as the Athletic Director for Seattle Pacific University for six years. Overall, he has worked in college athletics for 20 years.
"I am very grateful and humbled to take on the position of Deputy AD at Cal Poly, Stava said. "I want to thank Carter Henderson for his trust and belief in me and am beyond excited to be an integral part of his leadership team moving forward. In my almost three years as a Mustang I have been consistently amazed at the caliber of our student-athletes, coaches, staff, and supporters who share the same belief in Mustang Athletics that I do. I wholeheartedly believe that we are positioned as a department and university for unparalleled success in the coming years and cannot wait to continue in this new role serving this community, university, and athletic program as we passionately pursue those goals."
