SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. — Having already secured the most single-season home wins of its Division I era, the Mustangs (21-6, 12-3 Big West) are determined to accomplish a feat last achieved at Mott Athletics Center in 2019: an unbeaten home season.
The program's longest home win streak in the Division I era is a 32-match stretch that lasted from Nov. 11, 2016 to Sept. 2, 2021. While not yet approaching that mark, the Mustangs are currently on an 18-match streak since their last loss at Mott on Oct. 26, 2024.
Cal Poly boasts the second-longest active home win streak in the nation, trailing only Nebraska. The Cornhuskers are on a remarkable 57-match streak dating back to 2022. However, with a perfect 14-0 record at Mott this season, the Mustangs currently have the best home record of any Division I team in 2025, leading Nebraska by two wins.
Last week, the Mustangs completed a revenge tour against Long Beach State and UC San Diego, the only two conference opponents to have defeated them this season. During that weekend, two players achieved landmark career milestones.
On Friday, Chloe Leluge officially surpassed the 800-attack minimum to become the program's Division I-era record holder for career hitting percentage (.367). The following day, redshirt senior Emme Bullis became the fourth Mustang to eclipse 4,000 career set assists, distributing 72 over the weekend to bring her total to 4,002.
Cal Poly’s offense has been among the nation's best all season, spending the last 10 consecutive weeks ranked in the Division I top 25 for hitting percentage, including nine weeks in the top 20.
However, this high-flying offense fell just short against UC Santa Barbara on Thursday, as the Mustangs dropped a 3-2 decision (28-26, 17-25, 22-25, 25-22, 13-15). The loss snapped Cal Poly's ten-match winning streak in Big West play, which had ironically begun with a win over the Gauchos a few weeks prior.
Despite the loss, a pair of Mustangs delivered season-best performances. Emme Bullis set a season-high 60 assists—the second-highest of her career, trailing only a 62-assist performance against UC Davis in 2022, and tying for the single-match high in the Big West this season. Emma Fredrick powered her way to a match-high and career-high 21 kills.
The Mustangs now return to Mott with a chance to complete a perfect 15-win home campaign against Hawai’i on Saturday (6 p.m.). The match will also serve as Senior Day, honoring Brooklyn Burns, London Haberfield, Annabelle Thalken, Emme Bullis, and Technical Coordinator Frank Ham in a post-match ceremony.
Hawai'i (11-14, 7-7 Big West) has won its last three conference matchups but were swept by the Mustangs last time between the two programs as part of a four-match losing streak for the Rainbow Wahine.
