
Cal Poly Football Adds Pitt Quarterback Transfer Ty Dieffenbach

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. — Cal Poly football has added former Pitt quarterback Ty Dieffenbach to its 2025 roster.
Dieffenbach redshirted this past season at Pitt after originally enrolling there the previous January.
The 6-6 Dieffenbach is originally from Calabasas, Calif. and played high school football at Agoura High School. He started his high school career as a wide receiver before moving to quarterback his sophomore year.
In three seasons at Agoura, he threw for 4,153 yards and 48 touchdowns. during injury-hindered senior season, he passed for 867 yards and nine touchdowns. As a junior year, he posted career-high passing numbers with 2,669 yards and 34 touchdowns and earned all-state, all-county and all-league accolades. He was rated one of the top 100 overall prospects in California by ESPN (No. 95) coming out of high school.
He is enrolled for the winter quarter at Cal Poly and will participate in spring practices when the team starts spring ball in February.
Dieffenbach is one of four transfers the Mustangs have added so far this offseason. The three others are: offensive lineman Charlie Adams III from El Camino College, offensive lineman Matthew Mena from Golden West College, and offensive lineman Anthony Patt from Old Dominion.
