Mustangs Set to Host Cal Poly Invitational on Nov. 8-10
The defending Big West champions open the fall portion of their season Oct. 3-6 at the Beach Tennis Fall Tournament hosted by Long Beach State.
Two weeks later, Cal Poly travels to the San Diego area for a pair of tournaments, sending a handful of players to the ITA Southwest Regionals hosted by University of San Diego on Oct. 17-22, while the rest of the team will compete in the Triton Fall Invitational hosted by UC San Diego on Oct. 17-20.
The Mustangs then return home on Nov. 8-10 to host the inaugural Cal Poly Invitational to wrap their fall season. Colorado, Fresno State and Sacramento State are all set to take part in the tournament, which will allow the Mustangs to show off the brand-new, state-of-the art Comerford Pavilion. On Nov. 2 prior to the home football game against Montana, Cal Poly will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony to officially unveil the new facility.
Cal Poly returns eight players from last year’s team, including a pair of All-Big West honorees — senior Peyton Dunkle (First Team singles & doubles) and Romane Mosse (Second Team singles). Freshmen Jessica MacCallum and Anushree Shekhera are the team’s only two newcomers.
