The Mustangs bring back seven players from last season from a team that reached the Semifinals of the Big West Championship. Among the returners include senior Bastiaan Weststrate, who led the Mustangs in doubles win last season while earning First Team All-Big West honors in doubles. Also back are sophomores Raz Haviv and Sean Kamyshev, both of whom earned Honorable Mention All-Big West honors after playing together. Kamyshev also led the Mustangs in singles wins last season.
They have added three new freshmen, all of which were ranked as four star recruits or higher: Clayton Anderson from Rochester Hills, MI, Jack Cross from Newport Beach, CA, and Jack McGary from Pacific Palisades, CA.
Head coach Nick Carless returns to lead the Mustangs for his 14th season. Carless has guided the program to top three finishes in the Big West four times in the last five years.
Following this weekend’s tournament in Davis, Cal Poly will head down to Goleta for the UCSB Classic Oct. 4-6.
