
Seven Cal Poly Men’s Tennis Players Earn All-Big West Honors

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif.- Four Cal Poly men's tennis players earned Big West All-Conference honors, Big West announced Thursday.
In singles, senior Noah Berry and Joe Leather were named First Team All-Conference. Fernando
Fonseca was a Big West Honorable Mention with a record of 7-6. Fonseca made the doubles Second Team last season.
In doubles, the tandem Colter Smith and Bastiaan Westrate garnered First Team All-Big West honors. Raz Haviv and Sean Kamyshev were Big West Honorable Mentions this season with a record of 6-5 overall.
Berry was 3-15 this season playing at the No.1 spot and has now been named First Team All-Big West in singles all four years. This is only the fourth time in program history that a player has won First Team honors all four years.
Leather was overall 7-7 this year playing at the No.2 spot in the lineup. He has won Second Team All-Conference in singles the last two years with this being his first year winning First Team honors.
Colter Smith and Bastiaan Westrate were 14-3 overall and 5-1 in the Big West. They took down UC Santa Barbara's No.44 Pablo Masjuan and Kai Brady. Smith and Bastiaan had a strong start to the season winning their first five matches. Last year the doubles team earned Second Team All-Big West.
The Mustangs clinched third in Big West standings for the fourth time in the last five years.
Cal Poly had seven honorees tied with UC Irvine for the most this year.
