Mustangs Dominate Fresno Pacific in Relay Meet

RESULTS
SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. — The Cal Poly men's and women's swimming and diving teams both dominated Fresno Pacific, and the men secured 11 victories in a relay meet hosted by the Mustangs on Saturday at the Anderson Aquatic Center.
The women battled San Diego State and the Sunbirds during the meet, while the men went head-to-head with Fresno Pacific.
The Cal Poly men throttled the Sunbirds, winning 11 of the 12 events to capture a 148-58 dual victory. The women defeated Fresno Pacific 165-29, and fell to SDSU 128-71.
Senior Sean Keegan and freshman Luke Reyes were both a part of four winning relays for the men, while senior Ryan Trichler, and sophomores Drew Huston and Finn Schlamp were each part of three winning relays.
Freshman Madden Saini won the men's 3-meter dive (293.93 points), while freshman Justin Dolezal captured the men's 1-meter dive title (285.08).
Senior Kelly McDermott, junior Summer Cheng, sophomore Courtney Cross, freshmen Amalie Claus-Udarbe, Olivia Sundgren and Ella Bettencourt and a host of others had standout performances for the Mustang women during the meet.
Senior Briana Medvecki took fourth in the women's 1-meter dive, while freshman Shayna Gayer earned fifth in the 3-meter.
The Mustangs return to the pool on Friday, Oct. 6 at 6 p.m., to host a dual against Blue-Green rival UC Santa Barbara at the Anderson Aquatic Center.
