FIRST-ROUND RESULTS
LAHAINA, Hawaii -- A round of 68 by Kamille Dimayuga powered the Cal Poly women's golf team to fifth place following the opening 18 holes of play in the Anuenue Spring Break Classic on Monday at the Ka'anapali Golf Course.
Dimayuga carded six birdies and a pair of bogeys, finishing one shot shy of her career best and three short of the school record for a single round -- a 65 by Caroline Cantlay at the Rainbow Wahine Invitational in October 2019.
Dimayuga is in fifth place alone with her 68 entering Tuesday's second round of play on the 6,013-yard par-72 course. The final round is set for Wednesday.
Mustang teammate Nicole Neale is in a tie for 14th place following her round of 71 featuring five birdies and four bogeys. Vanessa Wang (40th place, 74), Carissa Wu (50th place, 75) and Elizabeth Scholtes (55th place, 76) rounded out the scoring for the Mustangs.
Individual leader after 18 holes is Zoe Campos of UCLA with a 66, one stroke ahead of Alyson Bean and Clara Gestsdottir, both of Denver, and Sadle Englemann of Stanford, all with 67s.
Denver leads the 14-team event with a four-person 13-under-par 275 total, nine shots ahead of Pepperdine. UCLA is third at two under par, followed by Santa Clara (287) and Cal Poly (288).
Dimayuga's three-under-par performance on the par-3 holes is the best in the field of 80 golfers while her six birdies are tied for No. 2 behind Campos. She also is tied for third in par-5 scoring at two under par. Neale is fifth in par-4 scoring at two under par and ninth with five birdies.
