Eighteen teams are competing in the three-day 54-hole event. Purdue leads the way with an 11-over-par 299 total, followed by UTEP at 306 and Southern Mississippi and Tulane, tied for third at 309. Cal Poly is 13th with a 29-over-par 317 aggregate.
Neale is tied for sixth in par-4 scoring at two over par while Wang is tied for second with her three birdies.
"Not only do we have the opportunity to compete on a championship golf course against strong competition, it also happens to be parade season and the team is learning quickly about the rich history and traditional food surrounding Mardi Gras," said first-year Mustang head coach Courtney Roberts.
"Beignets at Cafe Du Monde, King Cake, jambalaya as a mid-practice round lunch and a tournament welcome dinner at the House of Blues. Tulane is a great host and educating our team on all things New Orleans," Roberts added.
