SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. — Cal Poly women's tennis head coach Ellie Edles Williams recently announced that talented prospect Jessica MacCallum has signed her National Letter of Intent to join the Mustangs for the 2024-25 season.
Jessica, a senior at Laguna Beach High, is ranked as a four-star recruit and 108th nationally in the class of 2024 by TennisRecruiting.net. Jessica is set to reunite with her older sister, Sarah, who is currently a sophomore on the Cal Poly women's tennis team.
"We are extremely excited to welcome Jessica to the Mustang family," Williams said. "Jessica has had tremendous success in junior and high school tennis, especially in doubles, and we are looking forward to having another set of sisters be a part of our program."
This winter during her senior season, Jessica helped Laguna Beach High capture its first CIF Southern Section Division 2 Championship in 18 years while sweeping in singles at the No. 1 spot. Jessica also teamed up with her younger sister, Rebecca, to capture the Wave League doubles title this season, helping lead the Breakers to a league team title as well.
In 2021, Jessica, who has won countless junior titles, secured her first Wave League doubles championship while playing alongside Sarah. Jessica plans on majoring in biological sciences at Cal Poly.
