ST. ANDREWS, Scotland -- Former Cal Poly golfer and 2015 Big West Conference individual champion Justin De Los Santos wrapped up his first appearance in a major golf tournament with a 74 Sunday in the 150th British Open.
On the Old Course at St. Andrews, De Los Santos finished in a tie for 74th place with Marcus Armitage, both with even-par 288 totals. De Los Santos was tied for 55th place after Saturday's round of 70. He carded a first-round 71 and a second-round 73 for an even-par 144 total. The cut was at 144.
In Sunday's round, De Los Santos posted a bogey on the ninth hole and birdied the 10th, maintaining an even-par final round through 13 holes before dropping back with a triple-bogey 8 on the par-5 14th hole. He finished with a birdie.
On Thursday, De Los Santos posted an eagle, two birdies and three bogeys. He added two birdies and three bogeys on Friday and carded four birdies and a double-bogey in Saturday's third round.
