Cal Poly Men’s Tennis Moves Up to No. 59 in Latest ITA Rankings

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. – Cal Poly men's tennis has moved up in the ITA rankings from No. 61 to No. 59.
The Mustangs (12-4) are currently on a three-match winning streak beginning with defeating No. 75 Hawai'i two weeks ago. Sunday and Monday, Cal Poly defeated both UC Irvine and UC Riverside.
This weekend the Mustangs are set to host UC Davis Saturday, April 9 and UC San Diego Sunday, April 10. Both matches start at noon.
Cal Poly's No. 1 singles player, sophomore Noah Berry (10-4), has been ranked No. 122 the ITA rankings for the first time this season. At the No. 2 singles spot redshirt sophomore Joe Leather is 9-4.
Berry and doubles partner redshirt sophomore Fernando Fonseca are on an eight-match winning streak, making the No. 3 doubles duo 10-2.
Grad student Hendrik Inno and Leather are 9-4 primarily at the No. 1 spot. No. 2 doubles duo redshirt sophomore Colter Smith and freshman Bastiaan Weststrate are 7-3.
The Mustangs are on a 5-0 against the Aggies over the past five years. The three most recent matches were 4-0 shutouts for the Mustangs. UC Davis is 14-9 overall.
Cal Poly beat the Tritons (4-16) 4-0 last season.
The Mustangs will be on the road against Santa Clara Wednesday, April 13 and No. 14 Stanford Thursday. April 14.
