
LaMette Wins First Big West Player of the Week Award

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. – After going a combined 4-0 in singles and doubles to help Cal Poly women's tennis push its win streak to seven straight matches, redshirt sophomore Melissa LaMette has been named Big West Women's Tennis Player of the Week.
This is LaMette's first Big West award of her career and the second women's tennis team player to win the award this season.
LaMette went 2-0 in singles at the No. 3 singles spot last weekend against Long Beach State and No. 75 Hawaii. She is currently on a four-match winning streak and is 10-5 overall, tied for the most wins on the team.
At the No. 2 doubles spot, LaMette and redshirt sophomore Delanie Dunkle went 2-0 last weekend, helping Cal Poly win the doubles point in both matches. They are now 8-3 together this season.
The Mustangs are set to host UC Riverside at home on Friday, April 8 at 11 a.m. before heading to Los Angeles to face No. 18 USC on Sunday.
