
Berry Earns Second Straight Big West Player of the Week Award

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. — For the second straight week, sophomore Noah Berry has been named the Big West Men's Tennis Player of the Week.
Berry went a combined 3-0 in singles and doubles to help Cal Poly pick up road wins over UC Irvine and UC Riverside to remain unbeaten in Big West play at 3-0.
In doubles, Berry paired with redshirt sophomore Fernando Fonseca at the No. 3 spot to the tune of a pair of wins over the Anteaters and Highlanders. Berry and Fonseca have won eight matches in a row together and are a team-best 10-2 this season.
In singles, Berry beat UC Riverside's Andreas Djakouris in three sets 2-6, 6-3, 6-2 to clinch the win over the Highlanders.
Now 10-4 this season in singles, Berry was ranked No. 122 in the country in the latest ITA rankings for the first time in his career. As a team, Cal Poly moved up in the ITA rankings from No. 61 to No. 59.
Berry and the rest of the Mustangs will host a pair of Big West home matches this week when they welcome in UC Davis on Saturday and UC San Diego on Sunday. Both matches start at noon.
