SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. -- Cal Poly freshman Kaylyn Noh, the 2022 Big West Conference women's golf individual champion, has been named Golfer of the Year and landed on the conference's first team.
Fifth-year senior Caroline Cantlay joins Noh on the first unit. Senior Elizabeth Scholtes has been named to the second team while freshman Kamille Dimayuga and junior Jensen Jalufka earned honorable mention praise.
Seventh-year Cal Poly head coach Sofie Aagaard, who guided the Mustangs to their third Big West team title in the last six years, was tabbed by her peers as the conference's Coach of the Year for the fourth time. She also earned the honor in 2016, 2017 and 2021.
Named Big West Freshman of the Year as well, Noh claimed the Big West title last week at the San Luis Obispo Country Club with rounds of 73, 72 and 71 for an even-par 216 total. She led the field of 45 golfers with 12 birdies over 54 holes.
Noh leads the Mustangs with a 73.3 scoring average over 24 rounds this season with six top-20 finishes and four in the top 10. The Rocklin High School graduate has posted 10 rounds of par or better, including five in the 60s.
In addition to her Big West individual title, Noh placed second in both the Ron Moore Intercollegiate and Ptarmigan Ram Classic, both in the fall in Colorado, and fourth in the season-opening Hobble Creek Fall Classic.
Noh is the fourth Mustang to be named Big West Freshman of the Year, joining Cantlay in 2018, Scholtes in 2019 and Nicole Neale in 2021.
Cantlay finished third in the Big West finals and owns a 73.9 scoring average with three top-20 finishes and seven rounds of par or better.
Scholtes did not play in the fall and averaged 74.7 strokes over 15 rounds in the spring, winning the Valley Invitational at the Bakersfield Country Club in early February.
Jalufka compiled a 75.1 scoring average with four top-20 finishes while Dimayuga has played all 27 rounds this season with a 75.4 scoring average and 10 rounds of par or better.
Also on the All-Big West first team are sophomore Kate Villegas of UC Riverside and freshmen Tiffany Le of UC Riverside, Abby Leighton of UC Davis and Momo Sugiyama of Hawai'i.
Cantlay earned all-Big West honors four times. Including the first team this year, Cantlay was on the first team in 2019 and the second team in both 2018 and 2021. Scholtes was a first-team selection in 2019 and an honorable mention in 2021.
The Selection Show for the six NCAA regional sites will air Wednesday, April 27, on the Golf Channel at 2 p.m.
