SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. — Playing in front of fans at Mott Athletics Center for the first time in 637 days, the Cal Poly volleyball team held its Green vs. White intrasquad scrimmage Saturday.
It was a chance for all the Mustang players but especially the 13 newcomers to play in a match-style environment in Mott and get their competitive juices going.
Cal Poly played four sets on the evening with players occasionally switching teams in between sets to mix up lineups and positions on the court. It was a good opportunity for all the players available for the scrimmage to get playing time for the coaches to evaluate.
The Mustangs now have six days before officially kicking off their season in Tempe, Ariz. on Friday, August 27 against No. 13 Louisville and Arizona State as part of the Sun Devil Volleyball Classic.
