COLLEGE STATION, Texas — Wrapping up four days of competition for Cal Poly at the NCAA Track & Field Championship Prelims, Julianna Ruotolo and Justin Robison each added top-32 performances on Saturday at the West Regional meet in Cushing Stadium.
To start the Mustangs' morning at Texas A&M, Ruotolo tied for 30th in the women's high jump. She cleared 5 feet, 7.75 inches (or 1.72m) to advance to the next progression, just missing the bar at 5' 9.75".
Ruotolo twice jumped 5' 8.75" earlier this spring, at the FPU Spring Break Invitational and Adams-Klein Multis, on her way to earning silver at the BWC Finals.
In the nightcap, Robison came in 31st overall for the men's 5,000-meters semifinal, as he took 17th in the latter of two heats, clocking a time of 14:27.66.
Robison is set to graduate No. 2 in school history for the 5,000m, with an effort of 13:46.80 from the Sound Running College Invite. He tallied 18 points at the recent Big West Championships, including claiming the conference title for the 1,500m in 3:44.68.
Ruotolo also graduates after winning the Big West heptathlon title, helping to lead the squad to the team conference championship.
