SAN LUIS OBISPO – The Cal Poly women's soccer program opens its final home stand of the season – a three-game stretch – when hosting CSU Bakersfield on Thursday, Oct. 7 at 7 p.m. and CSUN on Sunday, Oct. 10 at 12 noon. With six matches remaining in the regular season, Cal Poly (7-6-0, 3-1-0) enters Thursday's game with nine points in the Big West Conference standings, sharing second place alongside UC Davis (8-4-0, 3-1-0). The top four programs in the Big West standings qualify for the Nov. 4 and 7 conference tournament, hosted by the No. 1 seed. The Big West's highest scoring program and ranked 47th among 335 NCAA Division I programs with 25 goals, Cal Poly won its opening three conference matches before falling at UC Davis (Oct. 3). The Big West's lowest scoring program with just five goals through 11 matches, ninth-place CSU Bakersfield (1-8-2, 0-1-1) earned its lone conference point with a 1-1 draw at UC San Diego (Sept. 30). Seventh-place CSUN (2-11-0, 1-2-0), which has conceded a Big West high 40 goals in 13 matches, has dropped its last two conference matches after winning the opener at Hawai'i (Sept. 23).
