
Cal Poly Women's Tennis Concludes Season in Big West Quarterfinals

INDIAN WELLS, Calif. — The Cal Poly women's tennis team's 2019 season came to an end Friday after falling to Long Beach State 4-0 in the quarterfinals of the Big West Tournament.
The third-seeded 49ers (15-5) took the doubles point after wins at the No. 1 and No. 2 spots.
In singles, Long Beach State's Natalie Munoz defeated sophomore MacKenzie Worsnop 6-0, 6-2 at the No. 3 spot. The 49ers' Zara Lennon then won at the No. 5 spot 6-4, 6-0 over sophomore Grace Olyphant. Long Beach State then clinched the win with a 6-2, 6-3 win by Sadaf Sadeghvaziri over freshman Emily Ackerman 6-2, 6-3 at the No. 6 position.
The Mustangs finish the season with a record of 7-12, 3-5 in the Big West. That included going 4-2 at home.
The team will lose one senior, Caroline Williams, to graduation.
