No. 33 Mustangs Fall to No. 9 Michigan, 6-1

SAN LUIS OBISPO- The No. 33 Cal Poly men's tennis team fought hard against No. 9 Michigan, as many Mustangs pushed the Wolverines to three sets, but couldn't hold on, losing 6-1.
The Wolverines took the doubles point after the No. 22 doubles tandem of Jathan Malik and Connor Johnston beat the No. 33 doubles tandem of Ben Donovan and Corey Pang 6-3 on court one. The No. 28 doubles team of Alex Knight and Runhao Hua beat Karl Enander and Tim Tan 6-4 on court two.
Following doubles play, the Mustangs started singles play where Garrett Auproux was beat by No. 95 Kevin Wong on court three 6-1, 6-2 while Antoine Noel was beat by Hua on court five 6-4, 6-0, giving Michigan a 3-0 lead.
Axel Damiens pushed Carter Lin to three sets but couldn't hold on, as he fell 2-6, 7-6, 6-3 on court six, clinching the match for the Wolverines.
No. 57 Donovan put the first point on the board for the Mustangs after he battled No. 66 Myles Schalet on court two, forcing a third set and coming out with a win 3-6, 6-3, 6-2.
Down 5-1, Josh Ortlip took Knight to three sets on court four, after a long battle, Ortlip ended up falling 6-2, 4-6, 7-6.
