
No. 64 Cal Poly Travels to Las Vegas, Faces No. 72 UNLV on Friday

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. – After picking up its 10th win of the season with a victory over Boise State on Monday afternoon, the 64th-ranked Cal Poly men's tennis team finalizes its three match road trip with a 3 p.m. Friday clash against 72nd-ranked UNLV at the Fertitta Tennis Complex in Las Vegas, Nevada.
For the eighth straight week, Cal Poly (10-7) received a national ranking by the ITA (click HERE for complete ITA rankings). The victory on Monday over Idaho provided Cal Poly a double-digit win total for the fifth consecutive season.
The Mustangs defeated Boise State, 5-2 after being narrowly ousted by Arizona on Sunday afternoon, 4-3 in Idaho.
Cal Poly's sophomore duo of Ben Donovan and Corey Pang – who boast a 10-5 record when paired together this season – held an unbeaten streak from Feb. 27-March 22.
Sophomore Garrett Auproux recently won six straight singles matches, including a win over the ITA's 118th-ranked player, Sumeet Shinde of Arizona last Sunday (7-5, 6-3). Auproux is 10-4 at No. 2 overall this season.
Cal Poly freshman Axel Damiens (pictured) is 7-2 in the sixth position and has collected a victory in three out of his past four matches, while senior Naveen Beasley has recorded a 6-2 record at No. 5 singles this season. Freshman Lucas Lesoeur has won his past two matches, including a victory in the fourth position last Sunday over Arizona's Brian Foley (6-4, 6-4).
UNLV (9-5) is coming off a 6-1 loss to No. 19 UCLA on Monday afternoon, which snapped a season-high five match win streak. The Rebels are a combined 9-1 at home this season and haven't been defeated on their home surface since Feb. 14.
