
Mustangs Win Eighth Straight, Defeats Montana 7-0

BOISE, ID – The Cal Poly men's tennis team picked up its eighth-straight win with a 7-0 shutout over Montana in Boise, Idaho on Friday. With the win the Mustangs improve to 8-3 overall while Montana falls to 4-2.
The match opened with doubles play and Cal Poly secured the first match when Jurgen De Jager and Marco Comuzzo team to defeat Michael Facey and Andreas Luczack, 8-1, on the third court.
Jordan Bridge and Brian McPhee won the doubles point for the Mustangs with a 9-8 win over Carl Kuschke and Ben DeMarois, 9-8, on the second court.
Andre Dome and Matt Fawcett made it a sweep with a 9-8 win over Andrew Warren and Ethan Vaughn on the first court.
With the doubles point decided, Sebastian Bell made quick work of Cody Kohlmoos, winning in straight sets, 6-0, 6-4, on the sixth court.
McPhee won the Mustangs third point of the match with a 6-2, 6-2 win over Warren on the second court.
The match was decided when Dome won 6-2, 6-2 over Kuschke on the first court.
De Jager and Bridge won in straight sets on the fifth and third courts while Comuzzo came from behind to win in three on the fourth court.
The Mustangs will return to the court on Saturday when they play 45th-ranked Boise State.
