
Mustangs Move up in Polls, Host Pacific

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. – The Cal Poly men's tennis team moved up to No. 47 in this weeks ITA poll and will host Pacific on Saturday in a Big West Conference tennis match on the Mustang Courts with first serve set for 11 am.
Cal Poly moved up in the rankings after picking up wins over No. 55 Nebraska (5-1) and Princeton (6-1) and a near upset over No. 17 Washington (4-3).
The Mustangs enter Saturday's match 10-5 overall and 2-0 in conference matches. Pacific enters 6-9 and 1-0.
Junior Andre Dome picked up the conference player of the week award after picking up wins over the 73rd and 44th-ranked players. He also pushed the 17th-ranked, Kyle McMorrow to three sets.
Dome's play was not only rewarded by the conference coaches, he also moved up in the national rankings to N0. 20. Overall Dome is 11-2 in dual matches all from the no. 1 position.
Dome and doubles partner, Matt Fawcett, picked up an 8-5 win over the 34th-ranked team from Princeton, but lost to the 63rd-ranked team from Washington, 8-4.
With the win over a ranked team, the Cal Poly duo was ranked for the first time this season at No. 55. The team is 6-1 in dual matches this season.
