
Men's Tennis Hits the Road to Face Arizona, Grand Canyon

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. – The Cal Poly men's tennis team will travel to Tucson to face Arizona and Grand Canyon University this weekend. On Saturday the Mustangs will face the 3-0 Wildcats and Grand Canyon on Sunday. The matches will be held at the LaNelle Robson Tennis Center. First serve for the match is set for 1 pm.
The 51st-ranked Mustangs enter this weekend's competition with a 1-3 overall record after defeating No. 49 BYU, 4-2. Cal Poly moved up one spot in the rankings after the win. Arizona enters the match ranked 56th.
Junior Andre Dome is currently ranked 22nd in singles and enters the weekend 1-1 playing on the first court in dual matches. Overall he posts a 7-4 mark. He defeated Georgy Batrakov (BYU) ranked 43rd in straight sets (6-2, 6-2). He was up a match against Pepperdine's Finn Tearney (35th) when play was suspended.
Other Mustangs picking up wins over ranked players in dual matches include Jordan Bridge and Brian McPhee.
Bridge, playing on the fourth court defeated No. 67 Keaton Cullimore of BYU, 6-2 and 6-3. McPhee, on the second court, defeated San Diego's 61st-ranked Thibaut Visy.
