
Dome Stays Alive at ITA Championships

TULSA, OK -- Cal Poly junior, Andre, Dome, advanced to the second round of the consolation singles bracket of the ITA Men's All-American Championships with a straight-set win over Alex Musialek of Kentucky.
Musialek, who was a NCAA singles qualifier last season, went down 6-4, 6-4 to the junior from Arroyo Grande.
With the win Dome will advance to the second round of the consolation bracket and face Stephen Hoh of Illinois who had to come from behind to defeat Enej Bonin of Denver 2-6, 6-2 and 6-3.
The two will faceoff at 9:30 Pacific Time.
Earlier in the day Dome took the 2nd –ranked player in the ITA polls to three sets before falling in the first round of the ITA Championship.
On Wednesday night Dome drew Blaz Rola from Ohio State who had a preseason ranking of No. 2 in the nation in the ITA poll. Dome entered the tournament with a preseason ranking of 62.
Set scores went 7-6, 5-7 and 6-1.
On serve at 4-5 in the first set, Rola took a break from Dome then held serve (6-5) to put the match back on serve. Dome held serve to tie the set up at 6-6 and send it to a tie breaker which went Rola's way for a 7-6 set win.
In the second set, Rola broke Dome's serve and took a 3-0 lead. Dome down 5-2 in the second, broke Rola twice, winning five-straight games to win the set, 7-5, and even the match.
In the third set, Rola broke Dome to go up 3-0 and had two more breaks for a 6-1 final in the third set.
