
Dome Rolls on at ITA

TULSA, OK – Cal Poly junior Andre Dome won his third round match of the qualifying ITA All-American Championships on Wednesday with a straight set win over Andreas Mies of Auburn. With the win Dome advances to the ITA Championship Tournament with the draw of 64 announced latter tonight. The championships are hosted by the University of Tulsa.
The ITA All-American Championship features the largest field of any collegiate tennis championship, as more than 300 players compete for the first national title of the 2011-12 college tennis season.
Thursday, Oct. 6, main draw play gets underway as 64 singles players and 32 doubles teams vie for the title.
Dome made quick work of Mies, winning in straight sets, 6-4 6-3. On Tuesday Dome defeated Ignacio Tobada of Georgia, 6-1 6-2. On Monday the Arroyo Grande High School graduate defeated Alex Hillard of Texas, 6-1 6-1.
Dome is the first Mustang men's player to advance to the All-American Championship singles play.
