Men's Tennis Complete Play at Southwest Regional

MALIBU, Calif. – The two remaining men's tennis players in the consolation draw at the USTA/ITA Southwest Regional Championship were eliminated from play on Saturday along with the lone Cal Poly doubles team. The championship was hosted by Pepperdine University.
Freshman Naveen Beasely lost in straight sets to Hunter Nicholas of San Diego State, 6-3 and 7-6.
Beasely advanced to the third round of the consolation draw with a bye in the opener and defeating Alex Johnson of UCSB, 7-5 and 6-0. in the second round.
Sebastian Bell, the other remaining Mustang in the consolation draw, lost 6-4, 6-2 to Eric Cederwall of Pacific. Bell defeated Nicholas Bjerke of LMU in the second round and received a bye in the first.
In doubles action on Saturday the duo of Brian McPhee and Jurgen De Jager lost in the round of 16 to the No. 6 seeded team of Franchis Alcantara and Remi Boutillier of Fresno State 8-1.
