Former Cal Poly volleyball student manager and volunteer assistant coach Nate Ngo returned to his alma mater in 2018 for his second tenure on the Cal Poly volleyball coaching staff.
Ngo is back as a volunteer assistant coach, a position he served in from 2007-2010 for the Mustangs. Ngo also currently serves as the Technical Coordinator for the USA Men's National Volleyball Team. He has been in that role since 2015.
Working with Team USA, he was part of the 2018 team that won a bronze medal at the World Championship, the first medal in a tournament in 24 years for Team USA. He was also on the staff for the 2016 Olympics where Team USA won bronze and in 2015 when the team their first World Cup since 1985.
In addition to his work with Team USA, Ngo has also worked on the staff at the University of Denver (2017), Irvine Valley College (2015-2017), University of Portland (2014), a Graduate Manager at the University of Nebraska (2011-2013) and SVS Post in Vienna, Austria as the Technical Coordinator in 2011.
Ngo attended Cal Poly from 2006-2010. In 2006, he began working with the Mustang volleyball team as the student manager, a year that saw the team win the Big West and advance to the Sweet 16 in the NCAA Tournament. He then spent three years as a volunteer assistant and as a coach on the women's club volleyball team before graduating from Cal Poly in 2010.
Orginally from San Francisco, Ngo attended Sacred Heart Cathedral High School where he played on the men's volleyball team.
