2016 -- Track: Redshirted ... on March 10 in Anaheim, was honored as the Mustangs’ Big West Conference Scholar-Athlete of the Year ... after earning College of Science & Mathematics Dean’s List Honors every quarter, won the award alongside 17 fellow recipients among the conference’s nearly 2,500 student-athletes from all nine institutions.
2015 -- Cross Country: Was Cal Poly’s No. 2 finisher at back-to-back midseason meets, taking fourth place at the Fresno State Invitational on Sept. 11 with a 6k time of 18:31.3 (helping to lead the Mustangs to the team crown via a total of 33 points), before coming in 13th at the Stanford Invitational on Sept. 26, clocking an 8k performance of 24:10.7 (as the team was third among 30 squads) ... finished 32nd at the Big West Championships in Riverside on Oct. 31, running the 8k in 25:35.16 ... earned all-academic honors from the conference.
2014-15 -- Track: Ran the Mustangs’ second-fastest 5,000 meters all spring: 14:19.94 at the 57th annual Mt. SAC Relays in Walnut on April 17 ... had a season-best 1,500-meter time of 3:52.81 at the Cal Poly ShareSLO Invitational on March 28; later competed in the Big West Conference championship final for the event, coming in 11th place at 3:59.25. Cross Country: Opened his first fall at Cal Poly in banner fashion, with a team-leading eighth-place finish (in 25:27.88) at the Lagoon Open hosted by UC Santa Barbara on Aug. 30 ... came in 23rd at the Big West Championships in Riverside on Nov. 1 (at 24:55.5) before adding a 144th-place showing at the NCAA West Regional Meet at Stanford on Nov. 14 (at 32:27.3 in the 10k).
Prep -- At San Diego Mesa College, finished third at the 2013 State Cross Country Championships, in 20:16.0 ... as an Olympians sophomore at the 2014 state track finals, was fourth in the 1,500m (at 3:55.74) after winning the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference title ... also had a 5,000m time of 14:58.0 ... won the 2014 California Community College Athletics Association Male Scholar-Athlete Award among 26,000 individuals eligible for the accolade, and was a recipient of the Hunter Harris Memorial Scholarship and the San Diego Track Club Scholarship, and presented research at the UC Irvine-hosted Honors Transfer Council of California Conference ... was previously an honors student at Mira Mesa High School in San Diego.
