
No. 6 Mustangs Top Seed in This Week’s Big West Championship

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. — After a strong regular season, the Cal Poly beach volleyball team will head into this week’s Big West Championship as the No. 1 seed.
The No. 6 Mustangs, who will serve as the host of the Big West Championship, finished the regular season with a 26-8 record which earned them the top seed in the tournament.
The Big West Championship will run Thursday, April 23 and Friday, April 24 at Swanson Beach Volleyball Complex on the Cal Poly campus. The No. 6 Mustangs will open the tournament Thursday at 11:30 a.m. against No. 5 seed CSUN. They will then take on No. 4 seed UC Davis at 7 p.m.
Then on Friday, Cal Poly would play its semifinal match at 12:30 p.m. The championship final match would be at 3:15 p.m.
Live stat links for all the matches will be available on the schedule page for fans to follow. Cal Poly will be looking to win the Big West title for the first time since 2022, the last time the Mustangs were the host site for the event.
Cal Poly’s combined record between all its pairs this season is 140-30. The No. 1 pair of Ella Connor and Erin Inskeep are 29-5 and have won Big West Pair of the Week three times. The No.2 pair of Izzy Martinez and Logan Walter have been on a tear this season at 30-3 and this season set the program record for career wins as a pairing.
The No. 3 duo of Ashleigh Adams and Quinn Perry are 23-4 as a duo, including 20-3 at the No. 3 spot solely. The No. 4 pair of Elise Lenahan and Julia Westby are 24-3 together and are coming off a weekend in which they went 4-0 to win Big West Pair of the Week this week.
