No. 4 Cal Poly Opens Home Schedule with Mustang Roundup This Weekend

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. - The No. 4 Cal Poly beach volleyball team returns home this weekend to host the Mustang Roundup at the Swanson Beach Volleyball Complex, following a dominant performance at the Chanticleer Challenge in Conway, South Carolina.
The Mustangs went a perfect 4-0 during the two-day tournament, bumping up to 10-2 overall for the season. Cal Poly opened the weekend with a 4-1 win over Georgia State before sweeping Coastal Carolina, Tulane and No. 15 Florida Atlantic 5-0.
With the strong showing, the Mustangs continued to build momentum early in the season. The top two pairs of Ella Connor/Erin Inskeep and Izay Martinez/Logan Walter each own 11-1 records on the season. There are three pairings that are unbeaten this year together. Those include Quinn Perry/Ashleigh Adams (6-0), Hannah Byers/Maddy Byrne (5-0), and Elise Lenahan/Julia Westby (5-0).
Cal Poly now turns its attention to its home tournament this weekend, where the Mustangs will face four opponents across two days of competition. Friday’s lineup features two ranked matchups, beginning with No. 19 Arizona at 11:30 a.m. before a night matchup against No. 17 Grand Canyon at 7 p.m.
Following Friday's matches, action continues Saturday as Cal Poly takes on Oregon at 11:30 a.m. before closing the weekend against Santa Clara at 3:15 p.m.
