
Mustangs Finish 11th in Penultimate Regular Season Tournament

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. — Cal Poly Women's Golf wrapped up a challenging two days at TPC Harding Park on Tuesday, finishing tied for 11th place at the Juli Inkster Invitational. Competing on the layout that has hosted PGA Tour Championships and a Presidents Cup, the Mustangs signed for a final team score of 46-over par.
The team showed resolve throughout the 54-hole event, which featured a deep and competitive field. After opening with rounds of 10-over on Monday, Cal Poly faced its toughest test in Tuesday's final round, carding a 26-over and 910 team score to conclude the tournament.
Leading the way for Cal Poly was Nicole Koong, who delivered the team's strongest performance. Koong fired a 71 in her second round, the team's low round of the tournament, and finished in a tie for 13th place overall at 7-over (223).
Maddy Saysanasongkham also secured a top-20 finish for the Mustangs. She demonstrated steady play, posting rounds of 74, 74, and 76 to tie for 17th place with an 8-over par (224).
The counting scores for Cal Poly were rounded out by Sarah Yoo and Sara Torres. Yoo, competing as an individual, finished in a tie for 37th at 12-over par 228. Torres tied for 43rd with a 13-over. Alex Flier and Taylor Baker rounded out the Cal Poly competitors, finishing at 19-over and 23-over, respectively.
The Mustangs will enjoy a sizable break before the final regular season event of the season at the Huntington Bank Collegiate from April 6-7 in Dallas, Texas.
