
Jarvis, Wang Tied for 14th after Opening Round of Wyoming Desert Collegiate

PALM DESERT – Posting dual two-under 70s and sitting three shots off the lead at the Wyoming Desert Collegiate, junior Jack Jarvis (above) and freshman Zihao Wang sit tied for 14th in the 124-player field following the opening round.
At the 7,305-yard, par-72 Classic Club, Jarvis produced six birdies and Wang – competing as an independent – enjoyed four for their twin 70s.
Freshman Rafael Bobo-Lloret and graduate student Kyle Dougherty sit one shot behind Jarvis and Wang with one-under 71s that each included four birdies.
Sophomore Nolan Kuszyk is 86th with a three-over 75 while junior Louis Pilod finished round No. 1 with a six-over 78.
As a program, Cal Poly resides in 12th place with a collective one-under 287 – 11 shots behind leader and 46th-ranked Colorado.
Round No. 2 of the Wyoming Desert Collegiate gets underway at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 24.
