
Daillak Competes in U20 World XC Championships Saturday

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — True freshman Tyler Daillak will battle of the world’s most talented junior runners when he competes in the U20 World Cross Country Championships on Saturday morning at Apalachee Regional Park.
The Paso Robles native will take part in the U20 men’s 8K race World Championship race at 7:55 a.m. PST. Live coverage of the meet is available both on Peacockand CNBC. Live results can be found HERE.
Daillak is one of six Americans in the U20 race. He qualified for the World Championships and earned a spot on Team USA by capturing the silver medal at the USATF U20 Cross Country Championships in Portland on Dec. 6. While competing against some of the best U20 collegiate distance runners in the country, Daillak finished just three seconds behind Texas’ Aidan Torres to place second with an 8K time of 25:13.8.
In his first cross country season as a Mustang this fall, Daillak redshirted and competed in a pair of meets while running unattached, finishing fifth in the Bronco Invitational and seventh in the season-opening Gaucho Twilight.
Torres, Dylan Maloney, Daniel Skandera, Jackson Spencer and Salvador Wirth make up the rest of the U.S. team for the U20 men’s World Championship race.
The women’s U20 race is set for 7:20 a.m. PST with the senior women’s and men’s World Championships scheduled to take place at 8:35 and 9:20 a.m. PST respectively. 2019 Cal Poly grad Katie Izzo, who competed at Arkansas from 2019-21 after finishing her Mustang career, will represent Team USA in the women’s senior race.
