SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. — Senior forward Jessie Halladay was selected to the 11-player All-Big West Women's Soccer Preseason Coaches Team, the conference office announced Wednesday.
This is Halladay’s first time receiving All-Big West Preseason honors and it’s rightfully deserved for one of the team’s three captains this fall.
Halladay is entering her third and final season as a Mustang after transferring to Cal Poly in 2023 from Loyola Marymount. The Los Gatos, Calif. native is the leading point-getter for the Mustangs each of the last two seasons, earning All-Big West Honorable Mention recognition a year ago after tallying four goals and three assists across 16 appearances. She converted all three of her penalty kick attempts in 2024 and led the team in shots (39), averaging the fifth most shots per match in the Big West.
Across her career as a Mustang, Halladay has recorded nine goals, seven assists and 71 shots across 35 appearances and 11 starts.
Cal Poly was picked to finish sixth in the 11-team Big West Preseason Coaches Poll with defending Big West regular season champion Hawai’i tabbed as the preseason favorite.
The Mustangs travel to Malibu at 2 p.m. on Saturday for an exhibition at Pepperdine to wrap up preseason play. Cal Poly opens its 2025 season at San Diego next Thursday, Aug. 14, before hosting powerhouse BYU in its home opener at 6 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 18. Tickets to that match can be purchased HERE.
