SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. — Cal Poly beach volleyball head coach Todd Rogers has bolstered his 2026 roster with the addition of four new Division I transfers to have one of the best transfer classes in the country.
The newcomers include Ashleigh Adams (Florida Atlantic), Peyton Dueck (UCLA indoor), Bailey Showalter (USC), and Julia Westby (Long Beach State). Combined between the four of them, there are seven all-conference selections, three AVCA Top Flight awards, and one AVCA All-American.
"I'm super excited to announce our 2025-26 transfer class,” said head coach Todd Rogers. “I think it is one of, if not the best in the nation this year. We are adding some talented players from rival schools, an All-American from across the country and welcoming back an old friend to finish up what she started. It is a great group of young ladies who will raise the level and expectations immediately when they step foot on the sand at the Swanson Beach Complex."
More about the transfers:
Ashleigh Adams
5-10 Split Blocker
Newtown, PA (FAU)
Adams has spent the last three seasons playing at Florida Atlantic University where she was highly decorated. This past season, she was a Second Team AVCA All-American, First Team All-CUSA, CUSA Pair of the Year winner, and an AVCA Top Flight Award winner after she tied the single season program record with 25 wins.
Adams also earned All-CUSA honors as a both a sophomore and freshman as well. She was the CUSA Co-Freshman of the Year in 2023. Overall, Adams racked up 68 wins in her three years at FAU.
Coach Rogers comment: “Ashleigh is coming from across the country to become a Mustang both from her home in Pennsylvania as well as her previous institution, Florida Atlantic University. She was an All-American this past season holding down the 1's spot going 27-6 and leading her team to the NCAA Championship tournament. She will be working towards a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies this year with the intention of continuing at Poly in pursuit of her teaching credential.”
Peyton Dueck
5-8 Defender
Aptos, CA (UCLA)
Cal Poly beach volleyball fans should be familiar with Peyton Dueck as she returns to San Luis Obispo for a second stint. She started her collegiate career with the Mustangs in 2022 as a freshman. In her lone season, she was a key part of the Mustangs’ Big West championship team. She played at the No. 3 spot and earned Second Team All-Big West honors and AVCA Top Flight award.
Dueck then transferred to UCLA where she spent the last three years playing on their indoor volleyball team as a libero. She now returns to the sand to spend a final season playing in San Luis Obispo.
Coach Rogers comment: “Welcome back Peyton!! Peyton played for us back in 2022 and held down the 3’s defender spot as a freshman. She left Cal Poly to continue her career at UCLA in indoor volleyball but loved us so much she came back after completing her indoor eligibility at UCLA. She is a dynamic athlete and will be in the MSFPE master’s program.”
Bailey Showalter
6-1 Blocker
North Bend, WA (USC)
Showalter spent the last three seasons at USC where she was part of two NCAA Championship teams. As a freshman, she was 7-8 while playing at the No. 4 and 5 spots in the lineup. She was also part of the Pac-12 Academic Honor Roll as a sophomore. She earned her business degree there in three years.
Coming out of high school in Washington, she was an AVCA Junior Beach All-American. She also finished second at the 2022 U19 USA World Trials and third in the 2022 U18 AVP National Championship.
Coach Rogers comment: “Bailey was one of the top recruits in the country coming out of high school in 2022 and we tried to recruit her to come to Cal Poly, albeit unsuccessfully. She is an intimidating physical presence at the net as a blocker and attacker. It took a while, but we finally got her here. Bailey will add a presence at the net, a great work ethic on the court and in the classroom and will be working towards receiving her MBA.”
Julia Westby
5-10 Split Blocker
Oceanside, CA (Long Beach State)
Westby has spent the last three seasons playing at Long Beach State where she has had an outstanding career. She has been a three time All-Big West selection, including first team each of the last two seasons along with a Big West title this past season.
This past season, she was 22-17 while playing at the No. 2 spot in Long Beach’s lineup with five wins coming against ranked opponents. In 2024, she went 27-8 at the No. 2 spot in the lineup and has 68 career collegiate victories.
Coach Rogers comment: “Julia played for our in-conference rival Long Beach State for the past three years. She brings an elite level of athleticism to our program and is a lefty, something we have not had in the program in three years. She has primarily been a blocker but did split block her freshman year. She will be working towards a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies.”
