
Jalufka, Koong Earn All-Big West Honors

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. — After both having stellar seasons, Cal Poly women’s golfers Jensen Jalufka and Nicole Koong each earned All-Big West honors it was announced Tuesday.
Jalufka, a redshirt senior, was named First Team All-Big West. Koong, a freshman, earned Honorable Mention honors.
Jalufka ends her career as one of the greatest players in the history of the program. She is now a four-time All-Big West honoree, including back-to-back years on the first team. She also ends her career as the program’s record holder for career scoring average at 74.0.
She also holds the two lowest scoring average seasons in the history of the program. Her 2023-24 average of 72.7 is all-time leader and her scoring of 72.8 this year is second lowest. She was also part of three teams that won the Big West Championship. She had 26 career top 20 finishes and 14 top 10 finishes, 45 career rounds at or under par, and nine rounds of shooting in the 60’s.
This year specifically, she had five top 10 finishes, 14 rounds at or under par, and five rounds in the 60’s. She finished the regular season with four straight top 10 finishes and placed 11th at the Big West Championship.
Koong had an outstanding freshman campaign. She had the second lowest scoring average on the team this year at 74.5. She had three top 20 finishes and two top 10 finishes throughout the season. That included a fourth place finish at the Tulane Classic, sixth place at the Ptarmigan Ram Classic, and tied for 19th at the Big West Championship.
She had seven rounds at or under par throughout the year, including two rounds in the 60’s.
Cal Poly will lose both Jalufka and senior Kamille Dimayuga to graduation but can return the other five players on their roster.
