
Mustangs Complete Second-Round Action at Stanford’s The Goodwin Friday

STANFORD – Senior Parker Mapes was the Cal Poly men’s golf program’s low scorer during round two at Stanford’s The Goodwin Friday afternoon while senior Baron Szeto continues to lead the Mustangs on the overall leaderboard.
At the 6,742-yard, par-70 Stanford Golf Course, Mapes shot a four-over 74 that included four birdies. With a two-round, six-over 146, Mapes sits tied for 74th. Szeto, the nation’s 130th-ranked player, was five over with two birdies Friday and dropped to 66th position with a two-round, five-over 145.
Sophomore Reese Sato collected two birdies, but was undone by four bogeys and finished Friday with a 77 and two-round, 10-over 150. After an opening-round 73, freshman Nolan Kuszyk shot 80 Friday and takes a 13-over 153 into the final round. Senior Jackson Parrish posted an 82 Friday.
As a program, Cal Poly dropped nine spots to 25th overall with a two-round, 34-over 594.
Final round action at The Goodwin gets underway at 7 a.m. on Saturday, March 29.
