No. 6 Mustangs Record Pair of Wins Saturday at Big West Challenge

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. — The sixth ranked Cal Poly beach volleyball team extended its winning streak to 10 after collecting a pair of sweeps Friday at the first day of the Big West Challenge at Swanson Beach Volleyball Complex.
The No. 6 Mustangs (12-2) picked up 5-0 wins over both Sacramento State and No. 17 Hawai’i at home.
SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. — the sixth ranked Cal Poly beach volleyball team put on another impressive showing Saturday at the Big West Challenge, sweeping Cal State Bakersfield 5-0 and beating No. 8 Long Beach State 4-1.
The No. 6 Mustangs’ No. 2 pair of Izzy Martinez and Logan Walter as well as the No. 3 pair of Ella Connor and Madi Nichols both went 2-0 on the day without dropping a set.
Martinez and Walter are now 15-1 on the season and have won 12 in a row. The No. 5 pair of Abbey Reinard and Elise Lenahan are 10-1 and have won five in a row. Connor and Nichols are now 3-0 since being paired together.
The Mustangs have now won 12 straight matches as a team and will look to continue that Sunday when they wrap up the Big West Challenge with UC Davis at 11:30 a.m. and CSUN at 2 p.m.
