No. 6 Mustangs Finish Mustang Roundup with Pair of Sweeps Sunday

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. — Cal Poly beach volleyball continued its winnings ways, extending its winning streak to eight straight after collecting two more sweeps on Sunday to finish out the Mustang Roundup at Swanson Beach Volleyball Complex.
The No. 6 Mustangs (10-2) swept both UC Davis and Houston Christian University by scores of 5-0. Cal Poly was dominant on the day, winning nine of those 10 matches in straight sets.
Cal Poly’s No. 1 pair of Erin Inskeep and Piper Ferch, the No. 2 pair of Izzy Martinez and Logan Walter, and the No. 3/4 pair of Madi Nichols and Quinn Perry all went a perfect 4-0 on the weekend.
Inskeep and Ferch have now won 10 straight matches while Martinez and Walter have won their last eight matches.
The No. 6 Mustangs will now get ready to host the Big West Challenge next weekend, March 21-23 at the Swanson Beach Volleyball Complex where they will face all of the teams in the Big West.
Friday, March 21 they will take on Sacramento State at 10:15 a.m. and No. 18 Hawai’i at 7 p.m. Saturday, they will face Cal State Bakersfield at 2 p.m. and No. 9 Long Beach State at 7 p.m. Then on Sunday, they wrap things up with UC Davis at 11:30 a.m. followed by CSUN at 2 p.m.
