Moore, who currently has one year of eligibility remaining, comes to Cal Poly after amassing eight goals and five assists across 56 starts and over 4,490 minutes played for the Beach. Moore is the first signee by first-year Cal Poly women’s soccer head coach Bernardo Silva as he builds the foundation for a team that will look to contend for a Big West Championship this fall.
"We are beyond excited to be able to add a player of Julia's level to our program,” Silva said. “Her student-athlete career at Long Beach State speaks for itself. She’s a player that’s been extremely impactful in the Big West every single year. Her abilities as a mobile, creative, and technically gifted midfielder fit the profile of a Mustang and most importantly, her character, humility, and authentic personality will contribute tremendously to the culture and standard of excellence that we’ve instilled in our program. We can't wait to have Julia with us this spring quarter and we wish her and the awesome Moore family a warm welcome to the Mustang family."
Moore had an immediate impact when she joined the Beach in 2022, starting and playing in all of LBSU’s 21 matches as a freshman. This past season, the Santa Cruz, Calif. earned All-Big West Honorable Mention recognition after registering three goals and two assists, fourth most on the team. She logged over 1,180 minutes on the pitch and started in 15 matches before seeing her season cut short due to injury.
In 2023, Moore tallied four goals and one assist across 20 starts, tied for the fourth most points (nine) on the team. Moore helped the Beach post a 10-6-4 overall record and earn the No. 4 seed in the Big West tournament where they fell to eventual conference champion UC Irvine via penalties in the opening round.
