SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. — The Mustangs head into their final weekend of regular season competition with back-to-back road dual-meets against Pacific and UC Davis on Jan. 17-18.
Coming off yet another successful meet against UC Santa Cruz, Evan Yoo won his second Big West Men's Swimming and Diving Athlete of the Week honor. Yoo has won all of his last eight races during an unbeaten run against Cal State Bakersfield and UC Santa Cruz. This season, the junior transfer has taken first in 10 of his 12 total races during dual-meets.
Cal Poly Men's Swimming is on track for a historic run this season, and could complete the program's first undefeated dual-meet schedule in its NCAA Division I history with a win over Pacific.
Last time out, Ava Lazovsky highlighted the women's diving results against UCSC with a zone qualifying score in the women's 3-meter (280.13). Lucas Lehrer swept the men's springboard events with 295.35 in the 1-meter and 316.95 in the 3-meter.
Amalie Claus-Udarbe, Summer Cheng, and Olivia Sundgren led the women's swimming team with two individual race wins over the Banana Slugs. For the men, Alex Seybold, Jonathan Butler, Drew Huston, and Evan Yoo all totaled at least three wins on the day.
The Mustangs will first travel to Pacific on Jan. 17 before heading further north the next day for a final conference meet at UC Davis. Following the pair of meets, swimming and diving will take a small break before the Big West Championships in mid-February.
